World Cup 2026: Spain vs Argentina, both finalists at full strength, no absentees

Hours before the 2026 World Cup final against Argentina, Spain report no absentees. It's good news shared by both camps: neither Luis de la Fuente nor Lionel Scaloni has a suspended or injured player to worry about ahead of this showdown.

Spain: a squad at full strength after five days of recovery

Spain's medical staff reported no physical issues coming out of the semi-final win over France, and La Roja have had five full days to prepare for the final. No player is under threat of suspension through accumulated bookings either.

Argentina: a few names to watch, but no absences

On the Albiceleste side, several players have managed minor physical issues throughout the tournament: Cristian Romero (knee and toe), Gonzalo Montiel and Nahuel Molina (hamstrings), and Lautaro Martínez (ankle). But none of these knocks has ruled anyone out, and Lionel Scaloni has his entire squad available for this final.

No player facing a card-related suspension

Another reason for satisfaction on both benches: no player, Spanish or Argentine, has picked up enough yellow cards to be suspended for this final, despite several bookings handed out throughout the tournament.

A showdown at full strength

Set for July 19 at 7:00pm GMT at MetLife Stadium, this final pits the reigning European champion against the two-time reigning South American champion, with Spain unbeaten in 37 matches.
