The U17 AFCON Penalty Hero, Chouaib Bellaarouch, Joins Reims

Stade de Reims have officially confirmed the signing of young Moroccan goalkeeper Chouaib Bellaarouch (18) from the Mohammed VI Football Academy, after successfully passing his medical.

Contract terms

• A one-year deal with an option for three further seasons
• He will wear the number 40 shirt
• He will initially join Reims Révélations, the club's structure for developing young talent

A continental champion at 18

Chouaib Bellaarouch made a name for himself at the U17 Africa Cup of Nations won by Morocco, where he was named the tournament's best goalkeeper after saving two penalties in the final. The young keeper is the younger brother of Alaa Bellaarouch, the former Strasbourg goalkeeper now at Braga in Portugal.
