Columbus Crew Sign Brais Méndez From Real Sociedad

American club Columbus Crew have officially announced the signing of Spanish midfielder Brais Méndez from Real Sociedad, in a transfer reported at 6 million euros, classifying him as a "Designated Player" in Major League Soccer. Méndez has signed a contract running through the end of the 2028-29 season, with a club option for 2029-30, and will officially join the roster when MLS's secondary transfer window opens on July 13. Méndez spent four seasons at Real Sociedad, recording 33 goals and 24 assists in 166 appearances, and helped the Basque club win the Copa del Rey title with a final victory over Atlético Madrid, having previously spent five seasons with Celta Vigo.
