Tottenham continue their XXL spending spree, sign Tonali
Tottenham have officially announced the signing of Sandro Tonali from Newcastle for €115m, the biggest transfer in the London club's history.

Tottenham have officially announced the signing of midfielder Sandro Tonali from Newcastle for a total of €115m (€100m plus €15m in bonuses), subject to a work permit.
It is the biggest transfer in the London club's history. The club's statement read: "We are delighted to announce the signing of Sandro Tonali, subject to obtaining a work permit."
Tonali, 26, arrived in England in 2023 from AC Milan. He leaves a Newcastle side that flirted with relegation to join a Tottenham team coming off a disappointing 17th-place Premier League finish.
The deal is part of a huge summer spending spree for Spurs, whose outlay already exceeds €290m, including the arrivals of Mateus Fernandes (€98m, West Ham) and Jan Paul van Hecke (€60m, Brighton), plus free transfers Andrew Robertson and Marcos Senesi.
The London club also hopes to recoup around €60m by selling Luka Vušković to Brighton, as part of a rebuilding project led by manager Roberto De Zerbi.
