About the CAF Super Cup

History

The CAF Super Cup was created in 1993. The first edition was won by Ivorian club Africa Sports, who beat Wydad AC on penalties following a 1-1 draw. Until 2003, the match pitted the CAF Champions League winner against the winner of the African Cup Winners' Cup, before the latter was replaced by the CAF Confederation Cup. Al Ahly are the competition's most decorated club with a record 8 titles, while Egyptian clubs collectively hold 14 titles, the most by any country. In the 2025 edition, Egypt's Pyramids FC won their first-ever title in the competition by beating Morocco's Renaissance Berkane 1-0 on 18 October 2025 at Cairo's 30 June Stadium.
