"Completely baseless".. Al Ahly officially denies sporting director appointment
Al Ahly have denied, in an official statement, any plan to appoint a new sporting director for the football section, describing the reports as "completely baseless" and demanding an apology from those who spread the news.
Egyptian club Al Ahly issued an official statement denying reports circulating about the appointment of a new sporting director for the club's football section.
"Completely baseless"
"There is no proposal of any kind regarding the idea of appointing a sporting director, and everything reported on this matter is completely baseless."
Apology demanded
The statement stressed the need for an apology from those who spread the news, adding:
"Credibility requires an apology from everyone who reported this false news."
Restructuring completed before the season
A source within the club clarified that the restructuring of the football team's technical and administrative staff was completed before the start of the current season, and that there is no truth to the reports currently circulating about a search for a new administrative figure. Al Ahly are currently competing in the Egyptian Premier League as well as the CAF Champions League, making stability within the technical and administrative staff a top priority at this sensitive stage of the season.
