Al-Ahly Benghazi submitted a financial offer of $800,000 to sign Maaloul, but Sfaxien's management turned down the proposal despite its considerable value.
Bakkar's injury forces Sfaxien to keep Maaloul
The stance comes amid a defensive injury crisis for the Tunisian club, after left-back Hicham Bakkar suffered an injury that will keep him out for three months, prompting Sfaxien's management to hold onto their captain despite his contract nearing its end next June.

The club's spokesperson said Sfaxien's position on their captain was clear, stressing that Ali Maaloul is not currently for sale.
