CHAN's Best Player and Arab Cup Golden Ball Winner — Hrimat Moves to Qatar
Qatari club Al Shamal have officially announced the signing of Moroccan midfielder Mohamed Hrimat from FAR Rabat, in a transfer reported to be worth around $2.5 million, bringing to an end a five-year spell with the Rabat-based club. Hrimat (31) has signed a two-year contract with an option for a third season, marking his first professional experience outside Morocco, after Saudi clubs had reportedly shown interest before losing out to Al Shamal following a disagreement over the player's valuation. Hrimat has established himself as one of Moroccan football's standout names in recent years, having been named Best Player of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) after Morocco won the title, before claiming the Golden Ball at the 2025 Arab Cup, hosted in Qatar and also won by the Atlas Lions.
