Tuchel Loses Rashford, Rice and Three Others Ahead of Nations League Fixtures

The English Football Association has officially announced the withdrawal of five players from the England national team's squad for the current international break, due to various physical issues affecting several Three Lions stars.

Who are the withdrawn players?

The list of absentees includes Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo of Manchester United, Chelsea's Cole Palmer, Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento, as well as Declan Rice of Arsenal.

The reasons behind the withdrawals

Unlike the other cases linked to physical injuries, the FA clarified that Declan Rice's withdrawal was not due to injury, but rather part of managing the player's physical workload to avoid any future risk, while the other four players' absences were linked to various physical issues.

The new call-ups

To cover for the absences, England's coaching staff called up Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White and Everton's James Garner, with both replacements set to join the squad from Tuesday.

The international break fixtures

England will play four matches during this international break, including two against the Czech Republic, one against Croatia, and one against Spain in the UEFA Nations League.
