Morocco hold their first training session under Mohamed Wahbi ahead of the Gabon match on September 25 at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, in the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
The Morocco national team has begun preparations for its match against Gabon, opening its campaign in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, ahead of a subsequent match against Lesotho and a friendly against Ghana.
The first training session gets underway
The called-up players took part in their first training session at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat, under the supervision of national coach Mohamed Wahbi. The session focused on regaining a competitive rhythm and launching the preparation program, with both Ismael Saibari and Achraf Hakimi absent from this first session due to their suspension for the Gabon match.
When Morocco face Gabon
The Atlas Lions open their qualifying campaign against Gabon on Friday, September 25, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, a match of particular importance for the launch of their continental campaign.
The rest of the camp schedule
After the Gabon match, Morocco will travel to South Africa to face Lesotho on Tuesday, September 29, before closing out the camp with a friendly against Ghana on October 4, an additional test to assess the squad's readiness.
