Friendly: PSG crash 3-0 against Mallorca in their pre-season curtain-raiser
Paris Saint-Germain began their pre-season with a heavy 3-0 defeat to RCD Mallorca on Wednesday in Palma. Luis Enrique fielded a youth-heavy lineup, missing several key players still on their post-international break.

Paris Saint-Germain endured a rough start to their summer. The French champions were beaten 3-0 by RCD Mallorca on Wednesday, 5 August 2026, at the Son Moix stadium in Palma, in their first pre-season friendly of the 2026-2027 campaign, played as part of the Trofeo Ciutat de Palma.
A clear defeat against a historic opponent
Mallorca's goals came from Zito Luvumbo (21st minute), Jan Virgili (40th minute) and Antonio Raíllo (51st minute). It was the first-ever official meeting between the two clubs.
A youth-heavy lineup
For this opening test, Luis Enrique trusted several academy prospects, including Axel Koukaba (16) and David Boly (17), alongside more experienced players such as goalkeeper Matvey Safonov and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Several regular starters, including Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi, along with several French internationals, had not yet returned to training and are expected to rejoin the squad in the coming days.
What's next
PSG are back in action this Saturday for their second pre-season friendly, against Manchester United, before facing Aston Villa in the European Super Cup in the days that follow.
