About the Supercoppa Italiana

History

The Supercoppa Italiana was created in 1988, originally played between the Serie A champion and the Coppa Italia winner. Since 2019, the competition has been held every winter in Saudi Arabia. Between 2023 and 2025-26, it temporarily adopted a four-team format (Serie A champion and runner-up, Coppa Italia winner and runner-up), with semi-finals and a final. Juventus are the competition's most decorated club with 9 titles, ahead of AC Milan and Inter Milan, each with 8 titles. In the last two editions, both played in Saudi Arabia, AC Milan came back from 2-0 down to beat Inter 3-2 on 6 January 2025, before Napoli claimed their 3rd title by beating Bologna 2-0 on 22 December 2025, thanks to a brace from David Neres.
