Founding and Early Years

Juventus Football Club was founded in 1897 by a group of Turin schoolboys, initially as a multi-sport club before focusing on football. The club soon adopted the black-and-white striped shirt that would become its emblem, establishing itself from the early 20th century as one of the great clubs of nascent Italian football.

Club Evolution

Nicknamed "La Vecchia Signora" (The Old Lady), Juventus play their home matches at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, opened in 2011: the first club-owned stadium in Italy, a decision that marked a turning point in the economic modernisation of Italian football.

Great Managers

Giovanni Trapattoni (1976-1986) delivered six league titles and the club's first European trophy, the 1985 European Cup. Marcello Lippi (1994-1999, 2001-2004) won five Scudetti and the 1996 Champions League. More recently, Massimiliano Allegri (2014-2019, 2021-2024) won five consecutive titles between 2015 and 2019 and led the club to two Champions League finals.

Iconic Players

Alessandro Del Piero, the club's all-time top scorer and the emblem of an entire generation, and Gianluigi Buffon, a legendary goalkeeper and the longest-serving captain in the club's history, embody the greatness of modern Juventus.

Major Achievements

Juventus hold the record for Italian league titles with 36 Scudetti, and have won the European Cup/Champions League twice (1985, 1996), as well as three UEFA Cup/Europa League titles.

The Club Today

Led by Luciano Spalletti and chaired by Gianluca Ferrero, Juventus are going through a rebuilding phase after a series of managerial changes, with the ambition of returning to the summit of Italian and European football.
