Morgan Rogers becomes the most expensive English player ever with Chelsea move
Chelsea have officially signed Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for €137 million, in a historic Premier League deal.
Chelsea FC have officially completed the signing of England international Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for a fee of £117 million (around €137 million) — the second most expensive deal in Premier League history.
A new club record for Chelsea
The move becomes the most expensive transfer in Chelsea's history, surpassing the £115 million paid for Moisés Caicedo (Brighton, 2023) and the £106 million spent on Enzo Fernández (Benfica, 2023).
The most expensive English player ever
At 23, Morgan Rogers also becomes the most expensive British player of all time, overtaking the fee Manchester City paid for Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest.
A long-term contract
The forward, who scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists in 55 appearances for Aston Villa last season, has signed with Chelsea until 2033.
