After a Difficult Juventus Spell, Openda Returns to France on Loan at Lyon

Olympique Lyonnais have officially announced the signing of Belgian forward Loïs Openda on loan from Juventus, in a deal that — according to French outlet L'Équipe — does not include any option to make the move permanent at the end of the season. Openda had joined the Italian side from RB Leipzig last summer in a deal worth close to €43 million, but his spell in Turin fell well short of expectations, with just two goals in 34 appearances across all competitions during the 2025-26 season. The Belgian striker now returns to French football, where he previously shone for RC Lens in 2022-23, scoring 21 goals and providing 4 assists in 42 appearances.
