About the KNVB Beker
History
The KNVB Beker (Dutch Cup) was created in the 1898-99 season, originally played between just seven elite amateur clubs from the west of the country, making it one of the oldest football competitions in the world. Ajax are the competition's most decorated club with 20 titles, well ahead of Feyenoord (14 titles) and PSV Eindhoven (11 titles). In the 2025-26 edition, AZ Alkmaar claimed their 5th title by beating NEC Nijmegen 5-1 in the final played on 19 April 2026 at the De Kuip stadium in Rotterdam, with goals from Mees de Wit, Sven Mijnans, Peer Koopmeiners, Kees Smit, and Troy Parrott.
