History of Raja Club Athletic
Founding and Early Years
Raja Club Athletic was founded on 20 March 1949 in the Derb Sultan district of Casablanca, by a group of Moroccan nationalists and trade unionists, including future Prime Minister Maati Bouabid, who saw football as a means of resistance against the French protectorate.
Club Evolution
The club plays its home matches at the Mohammed V stadium, reopened in 2025 after renovation, with a capacity of around 45,000, which it shares with its great rival Wydad AC.
