From Messi to Mbappé... the ultimate quarter-finalists XI

AtlasGoal's editorial team has selected its Best XI of the 2026 World Cup quarter-finalists, in a 4-2-3-1 formation combining stars from five different nations.

In goal, the pick is Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, one of the best keepers at this edition.

The defence brings together a Franco-Spanish trio: right-back Jules Koundé (Barcelona), centre-back Dayot Upamecano (Bayern Munich), young Spanish centre-back Pau Cubarsí (Barcelona), and English left-back Djed Spence (Tottenham).

In midfield, the duo of Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid) and Pedri (Barcelona) links defence and attack.

Just behind the striker, an exceptional attacking trio of Ousmane Dembélé (Paris Saint-Germain) and Lamine Yamal (Barcelona) on the wings, with Argentine legend Lionel Messi through the middle.

Up front, French star Kylian Mbappé was picked as the lone striker.

The full lineup can be viewed on the pitch via AtlasGoal's best teams page.
