Nobody knew the name Josimar José Évora Dias, known as "Vozinha," before the 2026 World Cup kicked off. Today, at 40 years old, the Cape Verde goalkeeper has become one of the most sought-after names in the summer transfer market.

Vozinha burst onto the scene with an outstanding display in the opening match against Spain, before guiding his side to the round of 32 as one of the best third-placed teams. That unexpected exposure turned him into a global star: he now boasts over 28 million Instagram followers, ahead of established goalkeepers like Mike Maignan (2.1 million) and Jordan Pickford (1.8 million), and even Emiliano Martínez (15 million).

Vozinha has been a free agent since his contract with Portuguese second-division side Chaves expired on June 30, 2026, making him an attractive option for clubs since no transfer fee would be required.

Inter Miami are in pole position among the suitors, with owner David Beckham reportedly impressed by the goalkeeper's marketing potential. Several other MLS clubs are also in the running, alongside offers from Brazil (Atlético Goianense, Ceará, Avaí), Mexico (Cruz Azul), Argentina (Deportivo Riestra), and Paraguay (Olimpia). No European club has publicly declared interest yet, though talks remain possible.
