Spain ended France's run at the 2026 World Cup with a deserved 2-0 win in the semi-final at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, booking their place in the final.
Mikel Oyarzabal opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute, before Pedro Porro doubled Spain's lead in the 58th to settle the contest.
Despite France's attempts to get back into the game, Les Bleus never found a way through, and star man Kylian Mbappé had to settle for a yellow card in the 86th minute without finding the net. The result vindicates the game plan Spain's coaching staff built after identifying weaknesses in France's play, bringing an end to Les Bleus' run in the tournament.
