The Tanzania national team, nicknamed "the Taifa Stars" (Stars of the Nation), is governed by the Tanzania Football Federation, founded in 1930. They made a historic return to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations after a 39-year absence, and are currently led by interim Argentine head coach Miguel Ángel Gamondi.
