History of Al-Kholood
Founding and Early Years
Al-Kholood was founded on 18 March 1970 in Ar-Rass, in Al-Qassim Province, and spent most of its history in the lower divisions before a rapid rise during the 2020s.
Club Evolution
Nicknamed "Fakhr Ar-Rass" (The Pride of Ar-Rass), the club plays at Al-Hazem Stadium, shared with neighbors Al-Hazem FC. In July 2025, American investor Ben Harburg became sole owner, making Al-Kholood the first fully foreign-owned club in the Saudi league.
Great Managers
Romanian Cosmin Contra led the club to its historic first-ever promotion to the top flight in 2024, before Englishman Des Buckingham guided them to their first-ever King's Cup final in 2025-26.
Iconic Players
Nigerian William Troost-Ekong, his national team's captain, and Argentine Ramiro Enrique, who scored in the 2025-26 King's Cup final, embody the ambition of the club's new project.
Major Achievements
Al-Kholood reached the King's Cup final for the first time in their history in 2025-26, losing 2-1 to Al-Hilal, after eliminating Al-Ittihad on penalties in the semi-final.
The Club Today
