Founding and Early Years
Al-Ahli was founded in 1937 in Jeddah by a group of students from Al-Falah School who wanted to create a sporting institution to represent the city.
Club Evolution
Nicknamed "The Royals," the club plays at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, the second-largest venue in Saudi Arabia, which it has shared with neighbors Al-Ittihad since 2014.
Great Managers
Brazilian Didi led the club to the domestic title and King Cup in 1978, followed by fellow Brazilian Telê Santana, champion in 1984. Matthias Jaissle (since 2023) delivered the club's first-ever continental title, the 2024-25 AFC Champions League Elite, then retained it in 2025-26, a first in the competition's history.
