History of Austin FC
Founding and Early Years
Austin FC was founded on 12 October 2018 and began MLS play in 2021, becoming the first major professional sports team in Austin, Texas. The club play at Q2 Stadium, opened the same year.
Club Evolution
Nicknamed "Los Verdes," the club wear green and black and enjoy one of MLS's most intense supporter atmospheres, with record sellout streaks at Q2 Stadium.
Great Managers
Josh Wolff, the club's first head coach, led the team to its first playoff berth and the 2022 Western Conference final. Jim Curtin, a two-time MLS Coach of the Year during his time at Philadelphia, will join the club as permanent head coach after the 2026 season.

Sebastián Driussi, the club's all-time top scorer with 51 goals, was named to the MLS Best XI in 2022 and finished runner-up in that year's MVP vote.
