Founding and Early Years
Al-Okhdood was founded on 30 July 1976 in Najran, in southern Saudi Arabia. Its name references "Ashab al-Ukhdood" (People of the Ditch), a story tied to the region's ancient history referenced in the Quran.
Club Evolution
The club plays at Prince Hathloul bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium, in Najran, opened in 2020. They reached the top flight for the first time in their history in May 2023, becoming the 37th club to reach the Saudi elite.
Great Managers
Jorge Mendonça led the club to its historic promotion in 2023, before Paulo Sérgio (2025-26), later appointed head coach of Wydad Casablanca, took charge until his departure in January 2026.
