Founding and Early Years

Real Valladolid was founded on 20 June 1928 in the city of Valladolid, in Castile and León, born from the merger of several pre-existing local clubs.

Club Evolution

The club plays its home matches at the José Zorrilla stadium, opened in 1982, with a capacity of around 27,800, one of the largest stadiums in Castile.

Great Managers

The club went through a turbulent period under the presidency of former Brazilian striker Ronaldo Nazário, majority shareholder between 2018 and 2025, marked by two promotions to La Liga but also two relegations.

The club has stood out for its ability to alternate between promising spells and sporting difficulties, without managing to establish itself firmly within the Spanish elite in recent decades.

Major Achievements

Without a national title to its name, Real Valladolid has mainly been defined by its historic presence in the Spanish top flight since its founding, despite several moves between La Liga and Segunda División.

The Club Today

Presided over by Gabriel Solares since a North American group acquired the club in 2025, following Ronaldo Nazário's departure, Real Valladolid currently plays in Segunda División, aiming for a return to the top flight of Spanish football.
