Founding and Early Years

Como Foot-Ball Club was founded in May 1907, its origins linked to an exhibition match held in 1906 on the shores of Lake Como between members of the Canottieri Lario rowing club and performers from Buffalo Bill's travelling circus, said to have inspired the club's creation. It adopted royal blue and white as its colours.

Club Evolution

Como play at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, completed in 1927, one of the smallest stadiums in Serie A despite the club's considerable resources today. Present in Serie A during the 1980s and up to 2002-03, the club went bankrupt in 2004 and restarted in Serie D, before a steady climb back up over two decades.

Great Managers

Cesc Fàbregas, appointed in 2024, embodies the club's modern revival: he led Como to Serie A promotion in 2023-24 before consolidating their place in the top flight, backed by Thierry Henry as an advisor and minority shareholder in the project.

Iconic Players

Brazilian playmaker Dirceu remains a beloved figure from the club's Serie A spell in the 1980s, alongside defender Pasquale Bruno, a product of the club's academy, and Swedish forward Dan Corneliusson.

Major Achievements

Como have won no major honours to date; their recent history is defined by their remarkable rise from the 2004 bankruptcy to their return to Serie A in 2024, after 21 years away.

The Club Today

Led by Cesc Fàbregas and chaired by Mirwan Suwarso, under the ownership of Indonesia's Djarum Group, Como have established themselves as one of Italian football's most ambitious and closely watched projects, backed by significant investment and a long-term development philosophy.
