Founding and Early Years

Eintracht Frankfurt traces its roots to Frankfurter Fußball-Club Victoria, founded on 8 March 1899, followed by a series of successive mergers with other city clubs, including the 1920 merger with TSG Eintracht von 1861 that gave the club its current name.

Club Evolution

Nicknamed "Die Adler" (The Eagles) after the crest inherited from the 1920 merger, the club wear black and red. They have played since 2020 at Deutsche Bank Park, formerly the Waldstadion, which hosted the 1974 and 2006 World Cups as well as the 1980 UEFA Cup final.

Great Managers

Paul Oßwald led Eintracht to the 1959 German championship and then the 1960 European Cup final. More recently, Oliver Glasner (2021-2022) delivered the club's first European trophy in 42 years, the 2022 Europa League.

Iconic Players

Bernd Hölzenbein and Jürgen Grabowski, 1974 World Cup winners with Germany, embody the club's golden age in the 1970s. The attacking trio featuring Uwe Bein and Anthony Yeboah defined the early 1990s.

Major Achievements

Eintracht Frankfurt have never won the Bundesliga, but have lifted five DFB-Pokal titles (1974, 1975, 1981, 1988, 2018), one UEFA Cup (1980), and one Europa League (2022), having also reached the 1960 European Cup final, lost to Real Madrid.

The Club Today

Led by Adi Hütter, back for a second spell since 2026, and chaired by Mathias Beck, Eintracht Frankfurt finished 8th in the Bundesliga in 2025-26, confirming their reputation as a club with an exceptional atmosphere and fan passion.
